A break from the the predominating analog-driven sound of LC’s 2013 debut, Battle Scars, the experimental single Abandoned Lick leans heavily on hypnotic synthesizers and trap-like rhythms (courtesy of accompanist/co-producer Ali ‘A Mac’ McGuire). The track, which would foreshadow LC’s future dalliance with electronica accompaniment, spins a tale of braggadocio and unapologetic confidence of a person has fought through hell to reach the stars and will stop at little to stay there… a point driven home by the flowy and intricate guest lyrical appearance of LC friend/rapper/artist, Carl Kavorkian.
